NO ADDED SUGAR INSIGHTS

How I turned a housebuilder's brand from safe to unforgettable.

No Added Sugar Creative - Morrish Homes Rebrand

Estimated reading time: 5 mins.

Most rebrands play it safe.

New logo, tidier colour palette, a slightly nicer font. Job done.

That’s not what happened with Morrish Builders.

The brand that stopped connecting

Morrish Builders was a great housebuilding business that grew over the years, but the brand stayed the same. The homes were high-quality and the team were proud of what they built, but you’d never have known any of that from the branding.

The old identity was tired with no consistent story running through it, and no emotional thread connecting the company to the people buying its homes. Marketing materials felt disconnected from each other, like they’d been written by different companies at different times. For a business built on family ownership and craftsmanship, none of that came through.

Potential buyers couldn’t feel what made Morrish different. And in housebuilding, feeling matters more than most industries admit.

Starting with what’s true, not what’s safe

Before touching a single design element, I spent time with the people behind the business. I uncovered the real Morrish, what they cared about, and what they were proud of.

What came back wasn’t a list of features. It was team of people who shared a passion for quality and bespoke craftsmanship.

That became the one true thing the new brand would be built on.

Morrish Homes – rebuilding a legacy

In 2019, Morrish Builders became Morrish Homes.

The new identity moved away from generic housebuilder branding, the kind that blends into every high street hoarding, toward something bolder. Together we created bespoke iconography, refined typography, and a colour palette that felt elegant without losing warmth.

The goal wasn’t to look modern for the sake of it. It was to make the brand feel aspirational, but genuinely rooted in family and community.

Consistency is where most rebrands fall apart

A brand isn’t just the logo. It’s everything someone experiences, from signage on a development, to a brochure handed over at a show home, and a social ad someone scrolls past.

That’s why one of the most important pieces of this project wasn’t the visual identity itself, it was the 60-page brand guideline document that sat as the core foundation of the brand. It gave the Morrish Homes team a single, consistent way to bring the brand to life across every development in the South, whether that was a small leaflet or a full site launch.

Consistency, done properly, is unglamorous work. It’s also the difference between a rebrand that fades in six months and one that still feels right five years later.

Five years on

That’s the real test of proper brand building, not how it looks on launch day, but whether it still holds up years later.

Five years since the rebrand, Morrish Homes has a clearer market position than it did before: a respected, family-owned housebuilder known for building homes people actually want to be part of, not just live in.

That’s not a coincidence. It’s what happens when a brand is built on something true, then applied with total consistency.

The takeaway

You don’t build a brand people remember by explaining harder. You build it by finding the one true thing your business stands for, and having the discipline to apply it everywhere, consistently, for years.

That’s the No Added Sugar way. And it’s why, five years on, I’m still proud of what we built with Morrish Homes.
