Rebranding Morrish Homes - A Legacy Housebuilder

No Added Sugar Creative - Morrish Homes Rebrand

I’m passionate about impactful and meaningful design that captures the authentic essence of a brand, helping to elevate its presence in the market. One of my most rewarding and successful projects to date has been the rebranding of Poole-based housebuilder Morrish Builders to Morrish Homes, a transformation I undertook in 2019.

This project not only redefined the company’s visual identity but also helped align its communications with the values they wanted to convey: community, quality, family ownership, and bespoke craftsmanship.

When I first began working with Morrish Builders, I was faced with a brand that was outdated and no longer resonated with the modern, high-quality homes the company was building. The previous branding lacked a cohesive narrative and failed to reflect the company’s values or convey the quality of the homes they were known for. The company’s communication also had a fragmented and inconsistent tone, making it difficult for potential customers to connect with the brand on an emotional level.

My first step was to create a new brand identity that was bold, striking, and reflective of the unique, bespoke nature of Morrish Homes’ properties. The new visual direction combined elegance with modernity, featuring clean bespoke iconography, refined typography, and an updated colour palette. I focused on crafting a brand that was both approachable and aspirational, reflecting the company’s commitment to high-quality craftsmanship and community-oriented living.

Central to the success of the rebrand was my ability to create a clear and cohesive set of brand values that spoke directly to Morrish Homes’ target audience. I took time to understand the people who worked at the company, to enable me to truly emphasise the company’s family-owned heritage, including its dedication to creating lasting communities, and its role in placemaking. These core values were woven into the design, ensuring that every touchpoint—from marketing materials to signage—reflected the brand’s commitment to quality and community.

One of the most important aspects of this project was creating a comprehensive 60-page brand guideline document, which provided detailed instructions on how to use the new branding consistently across all materials and channels. This document became an invaluable resource for the Morrish Homes team, enabling them to maintain brand consistency across all developments, from signage and house type leaflets to brochures and social media ad templates. My design transition support was integral in ensuring that the new brand was implemented seamlessly across the South, helping the company maintain its reputation for quality and trust.

The impact of the rebrand has been nothing short of transformative. In the five years since the project was completed, Morrish Homes has seen a noticeable shift in brand perception, with potential customers better understanding the company’s values and its commitment to quality. The updated brand has not only helped differentiate Morrish Homes in a competitive market but also reinforced its position as a respected, family-owned housebuilder known for creating beautiful, lasting homes.

The success of this project is a testament to the power of thoughtful, strategic design. By aligning the visual identity with the company’s values, I was able to create a brand that resonates with both customers and employees, helping Morrish Homes continue to grow and thrive in the ever-evolving housing market. At No Added Sugar, I am incredibly proud of this project and its lasting impact on Morrish Homes and the communities it serves.
